Job Title: Medical Technologist / Technician
Location: Madelia, MN
Employment Type: Full-Time – Mid Shift 10am-8:30pm, Monday-Thursday with occasional call shifts to cover PTO.
Compensation:
MLT: $25.92–$37.73/hourMLS: $30.04–$44.52/hourFREE MEALSPosition OverviewAs a Medical Technologist/Technician, you will play a critical role in specimen processing, test performance, and accurate reporting of lab results. You’ll contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of laboratory operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in a team-based environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform specimen processing, test analysis, and result reporting in accordance with laboratory protocols.Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to quality control policies.Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance, escalating concerns as needed.Maintain compliance with CLIA, TJC, and federal laboratory regulations.Support ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.Collaborate with other departments to ensure continuity of care.Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and inventory.Education & QualificationsRequired Education (must meet one of the following):
Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.Equivalent education/training including:60 semester hours from an accredited institution, including:24 semester hours in medical laboratory technology and science courses:6 semester hours in chemistry6 semester hours in biology12 additional hours in chemistry, biology, or medical technologyBachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.Training (must meet one of the following):
Completion of a clinical laboratory training program accredited by an HHS-approved organization.At least 3 months of documented training in high-complexity testing for each specialty performed.CertificationsMust be certified by one of the following: ASCP, HEW, HHS, AMTNew graduates must be eligible and obtain certification within one year of employmentCertified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or willing to obtain within 6 months of hireExperienceCompletion of a clinical laboratory training program ORMinimum of 3 months documented lab training in high-complexity testing2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred
Background study and pre-employment drug testing required.
