About the Role and Responsibilities This position will be part of our partner organization within the Financial Planning Systems space. This role will require a blended background of finance and IT experience. As a Senior Analyst, Financial Planning Systems, you will be responsible for supporting and developing Financial Systems applications, as they apply to the Finance organization, as well as acting as an internal consultant to those groups to identify automation opportunities and develop/provide suitable solutions. Supports the Hyperion planning application, on a daily basis, for forecast and actual financials Validates the data from Hyperion Financial Management and from regulators Investigates and resolves issues with data, including divisional roll-ups and intercompany transactions Supports system maintenance; maintains user authorizations Supports users with system issues, existing reports, forms, and models Assists with preparation of in-depth situations and analytical results analyses on various complex financial issues and serious industry studies Coordinates and completes monthly headcount process regarding Hyperion Updates Hyperion Planning with organizational changes; coordinates hierarchical system changes with Regulators and GL organization Consults with work groups to determine reporting business requirements; proposes and presents effective solutions Creates Essbase cubes, Planning Applications, Reports, as well as forecasting and planning models for Finance divisions Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Systems, or equivalent experience/training 3 years of work experience in a Finance role, including experience with financial reports, as well as financial modeling and analysis Solid IT background, including experience with Oracle and multi-dimensional and relational database structures Ability to adapt and be flexible in the use of analytical approaches relating to financial issues Ability to issue solve, module, and analyze data Meticulous with focus on accuracy and ability to prioritize tasks Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Strong communication skills Excellent teamwork skills with proven ability to work effectively in diverse situations Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred: Experience using Hyperion, as well as development and implementation experience (including Interactive Reporting, Essbase, Planning) Advanced degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Systems, or equivalent experience/training Certifications in finance or IT, such as CFA, CPA, or ITIL Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At American Airlines, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
